The research for the writing of the book has a stopover in Paris 1 Panthéon - Sorbonne, where Plácido González had an interview with Christine Mengin, Professor of History of Contemporary Architecture at the University and expert on the European leg of the work of Hilberseimer.

The ideas shared with Professor Mengin strengthen the argument of the book, which present The New City as a work that culminates a series of reflections that emerged in the late 20s in Germany, which were developed during the economic and political crisis that pushed Hilberseimer first to ostracism and finally into exile.

From here, Plácido González wishes to thank Professor Mengin her kind attention and her generosity to provide a copy of the original edition of The New City. A souvenir as precious as unexpected, that accompanies the final stage of writing the book.
