Last week we celebrated the first "Passable Orographies" Workshop-Encounter at the Agencia de Apoyo a la Arquitectura in Barcelona, in order to "fabricate" the book of the same name, dedicated to the work of architecture studio Grupo Aranea.

Organized by Ricardo Devesa, the session focused on the topics of environment and landscape in the work of Aranea. The meeting counted with the participation of Olga Felip, Erica Sogbe, Irma Arribas, Xavi Bustos, Pau de Solà-Morales, Jorge Yeregui, Eugeni Bach and Jordi Adell, as well as Francisco Leiva, Ricardo Devesa and Paula Álvarez. Critical analysis of a big bunch of carefully selected projects quickly brought up to a lively discussion on architectural project process and the problematic of the execution and building work. At the end we came to the conclusion that there is a generational change in Spain as well as a big challenge, as there is a real difficulty for new discourses and approaches to reach a grade of visibility in accordance with their real prominence. Happy to work with these great team!

As you probably know, Passable Orographies is built as one more of Aranea travel notebooks, which fluently connects the different sides of Araneas' work: building, projects, drawings and teaching. We are fabricating the book along a route passing across Barcelona, Sevilla and Alicante. These cities are the scenario for three Workshop-Encounters where we discuss selected topics related to the focus and interests of the studio. On this occasion Ricardo Devesa organised a frenetic puzzle-discussion which moved on from every selected project to the big subjects, mixing participants in consecutive discussions. We loved the experiment!

An important part of the book is being generated in these meetings. Conscuently the workshop-meetings are being hosted in singular spaces opened to the city and connected to architecture and close activities. We are honored to start our route at the AAAB which such exceptional guests. Soon we will give news about next stop!
